At first they whined and complained, but I kept pushing them until we came to a clear open shallow section of the creek. Ahh the memory still warms my heart. They played in that creek for over an hour. Pretending they were crocodiles, gathering pretty shells and rocks, and best of all they found "Indian Clay" (mud). They gathered lots of the clay and I hiked it out - they wanted to make stuff with it at home.

I sat on the shore, wandered around picking ripe black berries and wading in the creek with them.
A perfect summer day!

Now this looks like a wonderful balancing day! Glad the kids pushed through their resistance to get to have such fun. What did they make with the clay? It
sounded restful for you too!
My husband use to fish Putah creek a long time ago. I don't remember it being this pretty. Lovely photo of a lovely day. Your children will remember these trips when they're grown. They will be really good memories.
It was a great day, so relaxing and yes, I thought, the kids will remember this day - I will too. Funny thing is this day happened right after I decided I wanted my life back (as well as my dream). Ask and you shall receive. I love how the Universe works!
